honestly, I think it's one of those outdated old school wedding rules about not taking attention away from the bride. My mom has a horror story about it! These days it's a bit more lax and generally not a problem unless there's a cultural wedding where the bride may be wearing red!
I was googling it out of curiosity and apparently in the old days it signified you’d slept with the groom – which was the case at two of weddings I’ve worn red to! Retrospectively mortified now, haha.
