I’ve seen people state that avant-garde jewelry and statement pieces are a new “trend”. But did they ever leave? Every decade had their boisterous wearers of these accessories. It’s time to leave Mejuri behind
Oh I too, have a thing for freaky (or whimsical) jewellery! Most often than not intriguing pieces can be sourced in vintage and secondhand market places so I easily moved on and saved time drooling over pieces I wouldn't buy despite it being very, very tempting (Dezso by Sara Beltran for instance)
I agree! I also love the history of vintage pieces / the feeling that there's a greater story behind them. Also, I think finding new jewelry I love can be a good source of inspo for they style of jewelry I might be looking which can make sorting through all of the vintage stuff a little easier.
Freaky Jewelry FTW! Espesh if it’s vintage 🥹 Am super into gigantic vintage brooches as of late, there are some wild pieces out there
I love weird jewelry!! I wrote a really similar essay a few months ago, check it out on my page if you’re interested I’d love to compare notes ❤️

Yes yes to all of this! I am a collector of weird jewelry and I love it. Also holy hell on that sardine pendant.
Ah so cool! Share a pic if you have one, I'd love to see it!

Perhaps we are in similar financial positions to not be able to commission a piece of jewelry but now it doesn’t mean I don’t want to!!
Exactly, perhaps one day, but in the mean time its nice to have a little inspo of what's even possible!
